Microsoft .Net 3.5

Hello. So i moved to a relatives house and they had this pc that hadnt been on quite a while now. So i turned it on, struggled cleaning virus, fixing some features on the pc, installing updates and all of that. Now, the last update i made was in the device manager to the intel G41 express chipset. After that i got an new update on windows update, (Security update for microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and blablabla).I tried installing it a whole bunch of times but it kept on failing. so i just gave up and moved on, but my games were slower than i expected on this computer and i couldnt watch nothing on HD. So i decided to look for the intel hd media accelerator and what not. It said my computer didnt meet the requirements so i just moved on. Gfxui kept on crashing, stopped working when i turned on the pc or tried to go to Graphics properties so i decided to try and fixing that which also didnt work, and i found out it was because of the microsoft .net 3x. I tried "turn windows features on/off" but it gives me a blank page. Windows update catalog on IE keep failing to intall the update, it fails installing .net manually as well. Update hotfix doesnt work either. Im trying to find a solution to this problem without having to reinstall the OS because the pc aint mine and i dont have any installation CD.

I don't if the fact that Gfxui keeps crashing everytime the computer starts or i try openning it influences my gaming experience, cause it lags alot. I can't even install intel media accelerator.

Processor: Pentium Dual-Core E5300 2.60GHz

Display: intel G41 express chipset

OS: Windows 7 x64

Well none of them work. The windows update diagnostics didn't manage to fix the problem ("Service registration is missing or corrupt"). And the clean boot did nothing. So nothing changed to be honest.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the description, I understand that you are unable to install update.

I would like to know some information.

    1. Do you get any error message or error code?

    Try the Methods.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to reset Windows updates components and check if that helps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058

**Method 2:**I suggest you to perform clean boot and check, using this Microsoft Article because may be a third party application is causing this issue.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

**NOTE:**A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot. You must log on to the computer as an administrator to be able to perform a clean boot. Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality when you perform a clean boot. When you start the computer normally, the functionality returns. However, you may receive the original error message, or experience the original behavior if the problem still exists. If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps.

Once you perform clean boot do refer to the section **“How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting”**to boot the computer in normal mode.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future. We will be happy to assist you.
