Hello,

I have a problem with trying to open a video, recently i reset my laptop and copy and pasted a whole bunch of important videos to my USB, when i plug the USB into my other computer (both computers are windows 7) and then try to open the videos up it says the following message :

Problem with Shortcut

The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'example - shortcut.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

Thank you

    Hi ,Stephen Athan

This issue looks like a virus issue in your laptop . Virus can come to pc via many options such as pendrive ,cd ,internet . So i would like to suggest you to install one antivirus on your pc .

Some good antivirus are like  Mcafee -http://www.mcafee.com/us/index.html, Microsoft security essential- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows/security-essentials-download

Download any one the above antivirus and update . do a complete scan of your computer .

After complete scanning of pc go to start menu ,type folder option .open it , then click on view tab . click on the option to view hidden files . untick on hide protected systems .click on . u will see all the hidden files on ur computer .

Then go to your video folder . delete all shortcuts.lnk files . now u can able to play the videos perfectly .

Check the above steps & revert me back .

    Thanks & regards ,

    Sambit
