FRAMEWORK WILL NOT INSTALL

Windows 10 f@%#ked up my computer to the point that the Microsoft techs spent over 20 hrs on it and finally rolled it back to windows 7.  Windows update will not work.   Restoring does not work; even re-installing windows 7 won't fix the problems.  Windows troubleshooting doesn't find anything wrong.

One of the programs I have requires a minimum of Framework 4.0.  It will not load either.

Any suggestions other than bombing Microsoft?

Re-installed Tuesday and again {Thursday] morning from the Windows 7 Ultimate disc that I own...

    Answer by number:

1a. So you've done two (2) clean installs of Win7 since Tuesday, 29 March, is that correct?

1b Did the clean installs leave you with Windows 7 or Windows 7 SP1?

    1. Have you validated (AKA authenticated; activated) the current install of Win7 yet?
    2. What is the full name of your currently-installed anti-virus application or security suite (if any) and when (approx. date) does your current subscription (if any) expire? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender) are installed? What third-party firewall (if any)?
    3. In Windows Explorer [WinKey+E], navigate to and right-click on
    • **C:\Windows\System32**Wuauclt.exe <=this file

Select PROPERTIES & tell me what Product Version is displayed in the DETAILS tab (e.g., v7.6.7601.9999)?

    FYI...

**GWX Control Panel** is a free program that you can use to...

       • Remove the Get Win10 icon from Notification Area.

       • Prevent Windows Update from upgrading your computer to Win10.

       • Prevent your computer from downloading Win10 installation files.

       • Detect and remove Win10 installation files already downloaded to your computer.

       • Optionally monitor your computer for unwanted Win10-related settings and files.

Re-installed Tuesday and again this morning from the Windows 7 Ultimate disc that I own.  Microsoft more or less forced me to install windows 10, before I knew about it being incompatible with my AutoCAD 2010.

Every time I hit a key a message to install Windows 10 popped up.  One time when I hit the close X, it autamatically started installing Win 10, so I was screwed.

When and how did you "re-install windows 7?"

What installation media did you use to "re-install windows 7?"

If the computer (including .NET v3.5.1) isn't fully-patched at Windows Update, there's no way you're going to get .NET v4 (let alone v4.5, v4.5.1, or v4.5.2) installed.

As you may know by now, AutoCAD 2014 & earlier is NOT supported in Win10. AutoCAD 2015 & 2016 are not yet fully-supported in Win10. cf.

Level 2 support gave up on trying to fix it.  They rolled back to 7 but it still did not work.  so they and refunded my money.   I've spend 3 days trying to get it back to where it was with helpful input from the Autodesk cumminuty.    I've been able to re-install windows 7, AutoCAD and repair all of the file folders that it corrupted, but I cannot get the rest of it to work correctly.

What have the "Microsoft techs" had to say about your Windows Update problem?

Were you charged for the support?

Did you reinstall Windows after the techs rolled you back to Win7 or...?
