Remote Desktop problems

I have a computer at work that recently stopped allowing the user to use the Remote Desktop Client. I get "Remote Desktop Services ActiveX mstscax.dll doesnt match the version of the client shell" I have verified the versions. .dll is 6.2.9200.17435 and the .exe is 6.1.7601.18540 and it is a Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 OS. Whats funny is my computer is the same OS, Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1, and my file versions are: .dll 6.3.9600.17930 and .exe 6.3.9600.16415 and I have no problems using Remote Desktop Clients. I tried copying my files onto his machine and it just threw up a different error so I placed the originals back in. I have verified all updates from Windows Update have been installed, I ran the windows update repair tool to double check anything that might have been missing. I ran sfc /scannow and it told me it was unable to fix the .exe file. I have also tried registering the .dll but it still gives me the same error when I try to run Remote Desktop. The computer is on a domain, but I am logging in on the local machine as the administrator so I am directly connecting with the files. I am not sure what else to do as I do not want to run a repair and risk the user losing all of his installed programs or work he has done.
