I have been trying to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable package, as a program I need only works with it installed, but when I attempt to install it, it comes back with an error - 0x8007007e - The specified module can not be found. This happens after my computer goes black for a brief fraction of a second after hitting install. Anyone know how to fix this? I saw others asking about this here, so I assumed this is the place to ask.

    Hi @GreatGatherer ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

What your Windows version? Please check for updates and install all pending Windows updates.

Then, please try to uninstall all the existing Visual C++ Redistributable items in Programs and Features. If having some trouble, you can use the troubleshooter tool to fix it.
After that, reboot your computer and re-download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 to try again.

    Sincerely,
    Anna
