Windows Update Error 80040154

Hello,

I am experiencing issues with a virtualized Server 2012 system not being able to receive Windows Updates. The system is set to check for updates, but not download them. Shortly after clicking Check for Updates, I receive an error message with code 800040154. I have searched around the net and found a couple possible fixes:

  • Clearing %WinDir%\SoftwareDistribution folder
  • Restarting WUAUSERV service
  • Restarting BITS
  • Disabling Windows Firewall
  • Disabling Anti-Virus

None of these fixes have helped. The system can communicate with the internet. Below is an excerpt from WindowsUpdateLog.log, things I see as potential clues are bolded:
