This happen when your peer networking services is enabled. If you disable it the error message should not show up.

Regards.

Hi,

Based on the error message you are getting, kindly confirm if you are trying to create a Peer Networking Grouping.

If so, provide us the following information:

  • Is your network an Office or a Home Domain?
  • Does it happen on a specific computer or any computer you use to set up a Peer Networking Grouping?

As we wait for your response, kindly make sure that the system requirements are met which you can find at:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10737/windows-7-system-requirements

You can also check the response of DogChowder in this link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/peer-networking-grouping-service-isnt-running-is/55017a8b-3147-e011-90b6-1cc1de79d2e2

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

I don't have a network setup, but does disabling peer networking in services keep the error message out of the windows logs?

Nope, I don't have an office nor a home network.  There is only this one laptop connected to the WiFi router.
