Server Error: 3219

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

The error codes indicate that your account has been upgraded to the new version. Please sign into the account at http://mail.live.com; you should see something like the Outlook Mail banner shown here in the top left-hand corner of the window:

This means that you can't use DeltaSync to access this account any more. You'll find instructions for setting up the account to use IMAP instead on this page: Windows Live Mail and Outlook Mail

If you sign in in Windows Live Mail with this account, you'll find that the calendar will no longer synchronize.

Windows Live Mail is now working, thank you, but it created another problem, this is what I get when I try to scan to email

Server Error: 550

Server Response: 550 5.7.3 Requested action aborted; user not authenticated

Server: 'smtp.live.com'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 587

Secure(SSL): Yes

Should have left it alone

Server Response: 550 5.7.3 Requested action aborted; user not authenticated

Right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties.

  • On the Servers tab
    • Ensure that the Email username is your full email address
    • Ensure that Log on using clear text authentication is selected
    • Select My server requires authentication
  • Click Apply and OK

Remove any unsent messages from the outbox (below the account folders in the folder pane), then compose a new test message with a unique subject and send it to yourself. Post any new error message in your reply.

"Select My server requires authentication"   did the trick!
