Error code and Trojan

Every day I get 3 Trojans that I remove using Defender.  I also get an error code 0x80508023  The program could not find the malware or other potentially unwanted software on this computer.

Is there a way I can find out where these daily Trojans are coming from?

Jeff,

The error code (0x80508023) maps to "threat not found." It sounds like it found a thrəat, but when it tried to proceed with the action to clean, the threat was gone.

What is/was the fully qualified name and path to the file ?

Is: a thumb/flash drive, external disk in an enclosure, or a CD/DVD drive

Are you facing this issue during full scan or quick scan?

Try update Windows Defender and run a full system scan.

You may also run a full system scan in Safemode.

Be sure you empty temporary internet files and reboot the computer.

Internet Options> General tab> Browsing History> Delete> check "Preserve Favorites website data" then delete Temporary Internet Files. delete cookies, history, passwords, etc.

        Reboot

Also, suggest that you scan your computer using MalwareBytes'.

        MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM)

https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

The free version of MBAM is an on-demand scanner and offer no 'real-time' protection. Keep installed and use it as 'second-opinion' scanner.
