Code 45

I have a Device Not Recognised icon in the hidden icon section. All my devices are working normally.

When I go to Device Manager it is constantly refreshing. It is difficult to select anything because it keeps changing but I see Unknown Device, which is listed for a second, disappers then re-appears. When I manage to select Properties on this Unknown Device it says:-

Currently the hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45).

To fix this problem, reconnect the hardware device to the computer.

USB Serial Bus Controller Port_#0002

The error message than changes to:- This device is working properly

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

    Hi,

    • Did you make any changes to your computer?
    • Have you inserted a USB device recently?

The problem has resolved itself. A usb cable, which was not recognised by the PC,  was causing the problem.

    Hello,

To assist you better, we highly recommend that you reconnect the hardware device to the computer. This error occurs if a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. No resolution is necessary. This error code is only used to indicate the disconnected status of the device and does not require you to resolve it. The error code resolves automatically when you connect the associated device to the computer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

No I haven't made any changes to my computer.

A couple of days ago I inserted a flash drive into a USB extension cable and the PC didn't recognise it but sometime later it did. This is a flash drive I have used many times without a problem.

Should I just uninstall the 'unkown device' from the properties sub-menu?

    Regards.
