Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable error

Question

Hello! I got a new laptop, a HP Pavilion with windows 8.1 x64 operating system. I started to install all the gaiming stuff that were needed to run the games, but the Visual Studio C++ 2015 got stuck.

Then, i tried to install the x64 version and it shows this error.

I searched the error code, but nothing... 

I never used Windows 8.1 before, and I don't know how it works. I searched in the Update option of the windows but it can't find new updates.

Hi Stefan,

To address your concern, follow these steps:

1. Open elevated command prompt.

1.1. Swipe on the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point the cursor to the lower-right corner of the screen, and click Search.

1.2. Type CMD in the Search box, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

1.3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or on click Allow.

2. Once Command Prompt is open, key in these commands:

2.1. net stop wuauserv

2.2. cd\windows

2.3. rename SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bck

2.4. net start wuauserv
