Hi Elizabeth,
There are few reasons you would have this error code: (0xc0000022). May I know if you can launch Adobe from Desktop? Have you tried reinstalling Adobe to fix the issue?
Most of the times, the said error code can be resolved by running the program as an Administrator.
Follow this steps for Windows 7:
- Right click on Adobe (Adobe Reader) shortcut on your desktop, then click on Properties.
- Adobe Properties window will pop. Click on Open file location.
- Right click on the first highlighted file that you will see (mine is AcroRd32), then click Properties.
- Click on Compatibility tab, then tick the box for **Run this program as an administrator.**Click Apply and OK
After doing the steps, open an adobe file.
If the symptom persists, update and run Windows Defenderor your trusted Antivirus. Viruses can corrupt Files, change its formats into an unreadable ones and make them unusable. In these cases, the infected files will entirely be deleted which we don't want.
Another Method is to perform System restore. Here's how:
Note: System restore may affect the programs that were installed prior to the time of restoration.
- On Start menu search section, type "system restore" (with no quotation) and press Enter.
- System Restore wizard will be opened, select Choose a different restore point and click Next.
- At the lower part, tick the box that says Show more restore points.
- Choose the date (the date you remember that you're able to open those Adobe files.) click Next.
- Confirmation window will pop, Click on Finish.
- Click Yes to the message that says it can’t be undone until it is complete.
Once restoration is successful, you should be able to open the Adobe files now.
Keep us updated by telling us how it goes.
Regards,
Marc Cai.
