When I bought 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate there was no cd/DVD - only a key sequence to unlock "Ultimate" already on my HD.Computer came with it already installed.

Now I need a clean copy of compbatt.sys because mine has gone corrupt.

We don't even know what the problem is...

I read in the forums that you can borrow an installation CD from a friend and make a copy for yourself.

If you want to be friends, I can send you a way to download a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 ISO and you can have yourself an installation CD (everybody should have an installation CD).

Click my Profile image/Name, look at my profile and send me an email.

It didn't work - but thanks for trying - I DO appreciate it, ever so!

    Problem is on my end.

I extracted the compbatt.sys file from a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 ISO and put a copy on my OneDrive you can download:

You will of course have to rename it to compbatt.sys and stick it in the system32\drivers folder.

    Here is the link:

I also did a test where I deleted and corrupted mine on purpose to see if sfc /scannow would fix it and it did not.

I go back to my adage...  Suggesting sfc /scannow is akin to saying I have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it.
