Hello Community

I try to use a media create tool download. I have created a DVD Windows 8.1 Single Language. The software request the product key code, so I cancel. I went to eightforums.com for similar issue. Found a surprising software package by Brink, forum moderator. Image-Health program has sfc, dism, showkey, etc.

Showkey shows: OEM Edition: Win 8.1 RTM Core OEM:DM

 Product ID: 00258=61962-82564-AAOEM

From this information do I need to create a RTM ISO download for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Sorry for the font change I do not know how it happen![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/d0c339aa-07fe-4880-8c8c-6ea811a90f8a?platform=QnA)

The free upgrade to Windows 10 offer from Microsoft expired on the 29th July, 2016.

But Microsoft has a number of exceptions in place for users that missed out on the free upgrade and they have currently not stated any end date to these exceptions, but will adjust as necessary.

You will have to contact MS support and they should be able to assist you with a free upgrade to 10..

    Cheers.

    Hi,

Product I.D. is not a Product Key.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You do not say if you already have a License for 8/8.1 or not.

But unless you have a Windows 8 License, 8.1 does not come for free.

And Microsoft no longer sells 8/8.1; try amazon.com.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If you already have a Windows 8/8.1 License, read this:

You can download and create your own Windows 8.1 Installation Media to reinstall the Operating System with..

"Create installation media for Windows 8.1"

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

    "Download Windows 8.1"

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

A similar Tutorial which may also assist you

"Create Installation Media for Windows 8.1"

    http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/create-installation-media-windows-81

In the first screen of this very simple wizard, you need to choose the following:

Language. English – en-us if you're in the United States.

Edition. Windows 8.1 (Core), Windows 8.1 N, Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro N, or Windows 8.1 Single Language.

    Architecture. 64-bit (x64 ) or 32-bit (x86).

With Windows 8/8.1 The Product Key on preinstalled Operating Systems (HP, Acer, etc) is embedded in the BIOS in the Motherboard, so that the lost and/or worn C.O.A. Sticker problem is no more.

When you reinstall it will pick up the Product Key and activate the system automatically.

If it does not, follow these steps:
