Event Viewer/ Log

Hi

Please assist...

Trying to see logs for when the volume is muted in the event viewer under 'Windows Logs>System' and 'Application and Services Logs>Microsoft>Windows>Audio' and not picking anything for %Volume%, %audio% or mute.

Basically see logs for audio/ volume control actions i.e. Mute/ Vol. up or Vol. down.

Is there a specific directory or place where these audio events or actions are logged?

    @ElderN

    I sure did test this and hence my call for help. These events are logged or visible from the 5 machines I tested from.

    In both Windows>System and Application and Services Logs>Microsoft>Windows>Audio none are visible for the mute actions.

    I could not see the mute/unmute actions either.

    I thought that since B.J. Monaco responded that was an indication that he would have at least tested that and gotten it to work (and tell us how) or would not have posted anything at all.

    I have never had any reason to monitor such occurrences so I'm not sure if that will work or not.

    So when you tested this yourself and muted/unmuted the volume on your system where did you see the event in Event Viewer?

    You did test it, didn't you?

    Thank you B.J Monaco

    Insightful to understanding the categories of Event Viewer. Did not get to find nor have found the answer to the above and hopefully MSVPs' will find some insight on this.

    Thanks
