error code 0x00000105 - "add a printer"

I have Windows 7, Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit.  I am trying to install a brand new Canon PIXMA MG7720. I have a wireless router.  I went to: Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers -> Add a Printer.  I used Canon's download software from their website.  I attempted a wireless download.  The printer is recognized by the download program. The download appears to be going smoothly until it comes time to download the drivers.  I receive the error code "0x00000105".  Any Windows-related measures that I can take to make this installation succeed?

I tried a USB method to install but that didn't work either.

PAYDIRT ! I uninstalled my Norton anti-virus software and was then able to install the printer.  Apparently even with Norton's firewall disabled there must still be a "blocked port" phenomenon.  After I installed the printer I called Norton and had them reinstall their software. I am off and running.

To install the printer properly you should run the Canon installer, not by adding the printer through control panel.  You say this is a new printer.  If you have an optical drive you should run the driver installation from the CD that came with the printer. If you do not have an optical drive, download the installer (save the file then run it).

    Hi Jerry,

We got your concern. Upon checking in the code, it's from Canon installation code. I strongly suggest that you contact the manufacturer, so they can assist you and provide you the driver for your new printer.

    Thank you.
