Adding Custom DHCP Options in Server 2008/Server 2012/Windows 7 environment

In RFC 3679, Option 95 is mentioned as pertaining to specifying LDAP servers on the network.  It is also mentioned that this option is used by devices from Apple Computer.  Can this option also be specified in Windows DHCP, and if so, will the Windows DHCP clients correctly process the option?

Thanks for your help,

JHM

I rather doubt it... but it wouldn't hurt anything to try it.

But, let's start at the beginning.... the LDAP services in a typically Windows domain are handled by the Domain Controller (and not a separate LDAP server).

Plus, your Windows PCs are already getting the Domain Controller via a DHCP option now.... so they already know where to talk LDAP
