Windows media components missing?

Question

I was trying to run Forza Horizon 3 and it is giving me an error FH601 about Windows Media Components required. I followed the links in the error message to install the missing components but Windows says the components are not applicable to my computer or is already installed.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

Windows Pro N  1703  15063.138

Geforce driver version 382.05

Hi,

You need to check with Forza's Support.

Windows "N" versions do not include Windows Media Player and other media hooks.

Downloading and installing the Media Feature Pack may help.

I followed the link provided and tried to install the feature pack.  the (86) is not applicable to my computer and the (64) has already been installed.  I think I have downloaded and tried both files about 5 times hoping that one of them was different.  Noticing now that I cannot open the pdf files in edge from my fathers estate due to the same missing files which is actually a bigger issue that not being able to play a game.  I was able to open pdf's before the creator's update.
