DATE CHANGES FORWARD ON Computer running WINDOWS 7 pro Time stays in sync; it is only the DATE itself which is affected

I have a home-built computer windows 7 pro, i6700, with ASRock H110M-hds motherboard.   I have the same time problem as above as the time on my computer seems to change forward one day before 12am then changes another day forward at 12am making the computer 1 day forward after the last 12am change.  Another words if it is 8/3/2017 before 12am it changes to 8/4/2017  then when it gets to 12am it changes another day forward to 8/5/2017  this happens consistently.  I am curious if others here had to change computers and or motherboards to fix the problem or if anyone has fixed the problem in any other way.  Thank you for your help, Kurt

    Hi Kurt,

The system tray not showing an accurate date or time can be cause by a couple of things. There may be a corrupted or outdated system file somewhere that Windows was not able to update or it simply just did not work. Another possible cause may have something to do the BIOS.

    For us to better understand what's causing this, we would like to know;

    1. Did you make any changes to the hardware or settings in the computer prior to noticing this issue?

    2.  When did you first notice this issue?

    1. Have you tried updating your device drivers?

We will look forward to your response regarding this matter.

    Hi Kurt,

The issue that you’re having with the date on your computer that keeps on changing constantly can be caused a faulty motherboard clock. We’d like to confirm if you were able to check the date from the BIOS Setup if it’s correct. If you haven’t done yet, press F10 at startup, then press F10 again and Enter to save the changes. If the issue still persists, we recommend that you reach out to the manufacturer of your device to install the BIOS update.

Feel free to post back if you need additional assistance.

I have removed Norton Security first by windows remove programs then by Norton Removal Tool.

I have removed two Clock sync programs SPsync and NetTime.

I have one Clock sync program which is not listed in remove programs but has an icon on desktop.  Is it possible it has been installed as a service?  I checked the company which gives it out and no where is there anything about uninstalling the program.  I am willing to remove it if you can tell me how!

The name of it is Atomic Clock Sync.

    Check the time zone setting.

How old is the 2032 mainboard battery?

    Further diagnostic procedure suggestions:

Remove Norton altoghether using the Norton removal tool

Remove the time setting tool you have installed.

I made no changes to the hardware or settings in the computer prior.   I used the exact same disc to install windows 7 pro into my ACER computer and it has never had a time or date problem, however with this computer I built , 3 different installs all end up with a date change issue.

I noticed the issue on the same day of installation between 11:30pm and 11:45pm (not exact but seems to be right in this time frame) the date changed as I stated before and has continued to do so.

According to the ASRock App which came with the motherboard I have updated all including USB 3.0 drivers, Intel chipset, and all others the app said had updates.  According to PC-Matic it doesn't show any drivers being outdated.  I noticed many of the drivers are the Microsoft Drivers except for the LAN Realtek, the USB Net adapter is Linksys.

I have ran various programs as instructed on other sites to rid adware and unneeded programs such as JRT Junkware.., AdwCleaner,  Sophos Virus Removal,  on one of the earlier installs I was told to run ESET.  So I have been working on this as I have had time from day one.  I have a FRST64 program installed but to run it I have to shut off Norton Internet Security or it will remove the entire program. So I disable auto-protect and run it however I have noticed that Norton has greyed out the "Disable Auto-Protect" on the menu so looks like there stopping me from doing that now.

The only thing which is keeping my clock time up to date .. at least every 15min is a little program called "SP Time Sync"  otherwize I would have to stand over the computer, howbeit from 11:30 to 12am and wait for it to change, this way the longest my time can be out of sync is 15 minutes.  However, at around the same time I have noticed that the computer shows that I need to sign in as if from waking up, however I do not do the wake ups it seems to do those on it's own when ever it wants that is waking up and showing the log in screen.  ANyway,   the log in screen is usually there around the same time and if I look quickly after logging in I can see the time that is the wrong time being synced by the SP Sync program without it the time would change to the next day before 12 and then go 1 day ahead after 12

I have read various theories some believe it is the motherboard bios ( but I have the ASRock updater app)   and some believe it is a problem with Windows.   All I know is I want to fix it and appreciate all your help to do that.

Thank you for your questions and answering me, and I hope I have given you most or all of the information you requested,

    Kurt
