Does Briefcase work for shared documents on network drives

Can a Briefcase be used to sync Shared documents on a network drive by different people.

Say I have a briefcase on a network drive with a Shared Excel file.  Can multiple people copy the briefcase to their local PC and make updates and sync the file.  I guess I need to understand if the syncing of the briefcase is a copy/replace function or an update function (where it will compare the local copy to the copy on the network drive and update the changes).

Looking for a more efficient way to work as response time of trying to work in the file on the network drive is slow.  Would like to be able to work the file on my local drive and update the file on the network drive.  Issue is that I need multiple people to be able to have the same functionality without overwriting each other's work.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation, just trying to clearly describe my situation/issue.

Thanks in advance for all comments/suggestions/answers.

    Hi,

Windows Briefcase has its feature to automatically sync multiple copy of files. Briefcase updates the files on your computer to match the modified versions from other users when you connect it. Users only need to use Windows Explorer and then drag or copy their files into the Briefcase once.

Here are the steps on how you can sync Briefcase over a network:

    1. Move the Briefcase over the network to other user.
    2. Right-click the Briefcase, and then click Update All.

NOTE: Any further changes to either the files on other computers or those in the Briefcase are synchronized whenever the user right-clicks on the briefcase and selects Update All.

Let us know if you have other concerns.
