Dear Friends

Our office has 25 PC's with fresh Windows 8.1 installed. We have facing some issue when opening JPEG format files in several PCs recently. The error appeared "COM SURROGATE has stopped working" and close Windows Photo Viewer program.

I find several solutions including following one, but still not got the solution for this issue.

Please advice.

Best Regards

    Dear Ernie

Thanks for quick reply. I cannot point out exact time actually all PCs running Windows 8.1 but several PCs only experiencing this problem. All PCs run in same environment and network.

As a first step I changed the setting of "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" according to following  link

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8\_1-performance/com-surrogate-has-stopped-working-windows-81/d04c0e94-7284-46dc-a302-6927035c93f9

As a second step I just replace with new Window Photo Viewer source file with new one.

But problem still remains same. I think you may have an idea about the problem background.

    Cheers !!!!
