If by "Printer will not print test page" you mean that it won't print by using the "Print Test Page" button on the "Printer properties" dialog sheet, then you should try printing a test page using the printer's front panel controls.
Delete the job in the print queue. If you can't do this normally (by selecting the job in the print queue and selecting "Cancel" or "Cancel all documents", do the following:
- Open an Elevated Command Prompt (click the Start Orb, type "cmd.exe" (without quotes) in the Search box; right-click on the found link and select "Run as administrator")
- Type the following in the black Command Prompt window and press Enter after each line
net stop spooler
del /Q "%windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.*"
net start spooler
exit
After you have deleted the pending job(s), try another test page from the "Print Test Page" button on the "Printer properties" dialog sheet. If this still doesn't work, you can print a "nozzle check" pattern page as follows:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect it from your computer
- Press and hold the "Stop" button as you press the On/Off button to turn the printer on
- Keep both buttons pressed until the On button light begins to flash and then release the buttons
- A nozzle check pattern should print.
If this doesn't work, then it's time to buy a new printer (or you can go to https://www.fixyourownprinter.com/ and see if you can get any advice there).
