Windows Server 2012 Activation

Hello everyone.

My Server 2012 R2 has gone bad, so i'm re-installing.

If I do an upgrade like on the menu below:

If I do upgrade, is the activation status carried over as well? Like if windows was activated now, would it be activated if I did an upgrade on it without needing the product key again(it says it keeps settings)?

I ask because I don't have the MAK (multiple activation keys), I have to 'request' them from head office for some reason, which takes a day (don't ask why, it's the company'a policy for some reason) and I don't really want to tell them that I messed up their server, as you could probably understand.

Thank you,

-Lewis
