This is a reply to BigGreyGolem

Yes, it seems that last update did a lot of damage for me.  I did contact Microsoft and a tech did try to help me because the problem was caused by the update.  He essentialy just did what I did.

That is uninstall and reinstall.  He even closed down the virus program.  But after days and days of scouring the net, I came upon someone who said something about spybot causing blocking of programs.

Aha, so now I had a thread of info.  Because just shutting them down didn't work, I quickly uninstalled, spybot, avast, and malwarebytes.  Rebooted and now my program did install and I can only run it if there are no virus programs installed.

So I again looked around for a virus program with a small footprint and after reading pages and pages of reviews, I settled on Webroot.

And Jasc opens and works just fine.  I never paid for a virus program before, but I felt I had no choice because I know Jasc like the back of my hand and don't have the time to learn another program.  So possibly you can start by uninstalling all of your virus protection stuff and give it a try.  I sincerely hope this helps you and everyone else that has this problem.

Same problem here. I have used this program for years, and successfully under Windows 10 as well. Suddenly it won't open.

It appears the last Windows update broke it, but since I'm beyond the 10-day window, I can't roll back the update.
