Hi,

I used WintoUSB to install the international ISO from Windows 8.1 on a 64 GB USB Flash Drive.

I encrypted the main disk location for windows with bitlocker on an external Windows laptop with a boot encryption > password boot for bitlocker on the disk.

The first time i used it on a mac i booted the mac in boot selection mode and selected the windows drive > everything worked fine. Bitlocker screen, password, windows 8.1 loaded perfectly and all the mac drivers worked.

Second time i put in the usb and tried to boot windows via the same way it gave an: vhd boot initialization failed ERROR

Now it does not work anymore.. can anyone help me fix this?

    Hi Mike,

We suggest for you to run a System file check. By doing so, the task will scan for changed or misplaced files. If sfc discovers that a protected file has been overwritten or corrupted, it retrieves the correct version of the file folder, and then replaces the incorrect file. Kindly follow the steps provided by ZigZag3143 (MS -MVP) on this linkto perform the task.

    Regards.
