Windows Live Mail- automatically delete Junk folder

Is there a way to have the Junk Folder automatically delete?

I also was trying to send Blocked Senders right to the Trash or better yet, just be deleted automatically.

Is there a way to do any of this? I found the check box for emptying the trash when closing the program, it appears to only have worked once.

Help!

Thanks!

Put the entire address in the message rule. It shouldn't matter if they are in blocked senders since the message will never reach your computer, but I would remove it.

You can try a simple test, easiest if you have a second address to send from, but not necessary. Put your own address in the message rule and send yourself a test message. You shouldn't get it. (Don't forget to remove your address).

Use message rules instead of blocked senders. Folders Tab | Message Rules.

    1. Where the From line contains people
    2. Delete it from server.
    3. Click on Contains People and add the senders you never want to see and their messages will be deleted at the server and never downloaded.

    A couple of comments:

    1.   Folders called Junk and Trash aren't native to Windows Live Mail. If those are their real names, then this must be an IMAP account.
    2.   Message rules don't work on IMAP accounts.
    3.   There is no setting that will empty the junk email folder regularly or, for example, on program shutdown. The closest is perhaps this one:

I've always considered it too dangerous to apply, though. There are too many 'false positives' - legitimate mail messages that end up in the junk email folder for whatever reason.

To get to the Safety Options dialogue, press Alt-F O S when viewing your message list.

    1.   It only takes a single click to empty the junk email folder:

I did find that and try it...doesn't seem to be working...

Say the sender is 'ToysRUs' in the from line...do I just put ToysRUs as the 'people' or do I need to put the whole ToysRUs email adress in there?

Do I take them off the Blocked Senders for this to work?

    Thanks
