Hi, my Samsung notebook was in for repairs. Unfortunately the technician took me for a ride. He replaced my HDD with a different notebooks HDD ( smaller one as well lol ) Now my wifi and dvd rom including almost everything else is not functioning. And doing a windows automatic update gives no results. It took me forever just to get the notebook to connect via network cable to get net. I had to transfer drivers via my tablet. I have done the "scan for hardware changes" it kicks out that the drivers is out of date and then tries to update via internet, again I left it overnight to see what happens. No drivers ever gets downloaded.

I can not see the product code as it is a old notebook all it gives me is the MOTHERBOARD : NP270E5G-K05ZA.

Any advice please, cant have it done by a technician again.

Sounds like device drivers were not installed.

Does this sound like what you have:

Samsung ATIV BOOK2,NP270E5G-K05ZA

Strange setup Samsung has there for support.  You may TRY to get t his:

http://orcaservice.samsungmobile.com/SWUpdate.aspx

It may help you get other device drivers.

Microsoft is NOT your support for the hardware (including device drivers) - Samsung is.

Too bad,as in Win 7 & Vista,a OS recovery partition was on youre former HD,which gives you Win OS

recovery availability as in: Sfc /Scannow   Either way,try R.clicking cmd prompt (system tools) run in Adm

mode, type: Sfc /Scannow   see if it runs or asks for OS installation cd...

As far as networking goes,1st install the MB chipset software/driver,then networking software, get those

from pc mfg,or pc hardware mfg (intel/amd/etc)  One can open device mgr for details,or in run, type: Msinfo32

The latest drivers would be from intel or amd/etc
