OK Solution 3 worked for me, BUT slight revision to steps:

Open Settings (cog on start menu)

Click Apps uninstall, defaults, optional features (or type Apps into search bar and select Apps & features)

Type Solit in second search box should be enough to find Microsoft Solitaire Collection

Click Advanced Options

Click Reset grey button

Accept warnings and reboot

On restart I selected that I had played on this PC before and allowed it to Syncronise

Went into daily challenge, First game opened without an advert, second game had the expected advert and all worked correctly.

Hope this is helpful

    Hi Claud,

Corrupted game profile data, outdated version of the game and the Windows 10 OS are several factors that we have to take into consideration when troubleshooting issues playing games on Windows 10. Here are troubleshooting solutions that you may perform to resolve this issue:

    Solution 1: Run troubleshooter

The Windows apps troubleshooter can help resolve issues with apps and games downloaded from the Windows Store. Click this link to run this troubleshooter.

    Solution 2: Check for updates

Keeping the game and the Windows 10 PC up-to-date can help resolve common issues with Windows 10 games. Refer to the following links for the steps:

Solution 3: Reset the game from the Settings menu

    1. Click Start and click Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Apps & features.
    4. Find the game and click Advanced options.
    5. Click Reset.
    6. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.

    Solution 4: Remove temporary files

Temporary files are automatically deleted after exiting an application or a game. However, restarting your computer without exiting an active Windows session won't delete temporary files. These files may cause issues running games on Windows 10. To resolve this, we suggest that you perform the following steps on how to remove temporary files:

    1. Click Start and click Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Storage.
    4. Click This PC.
    5. Click Temporary files.
    6. Select Temporary files.
    7. Click Remove files.
    8. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.

Kindly update us with the progress. We'd be more than willing to further assist you.

Start, Settings, Apps, In the Apps & Features scroll down to the 'Microsoft Solitaire Collection' and click on the 'Advanced Options'  Click 'Reset'.  This option Resets the entire game as if it was just installed.
