Keyboard not working

Earlier today my keyboard was working fine on my hp pavilion touch screen laptop. But about an hour ago I got on and my keyboard would not work. I tried restarting it and pressing escape over and over again, but that didn't work. I also tried troubleshooting my keyboard and it said there was no issues with it. I didn't spill anything or drop it, so I'm really confused. Please help

Check if KB4074588 is installed (If KB KB4090913 or KB4088776 is installed, skip this)

KB4074588 has been reportedly giving problems after installation and causing problems around USB devices and onboard devices, such as a built-in laptop camera, keyboard or mouse.

Type appwiz.cpl in Windows Start Search box (Cortana) > Click appwiz.cpl > Click View installed updates > Under Microsoft Windows, look if KB4074588 is installed > If yes -

Look into below help and take the steps recommended by Microsoft to solve this.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/409124...

If above doesn't work, try standard keyboard troubleshooting steps for Keyboard (skip whatever you have already tried)

    1. Till your problem is resolved and you need to do urgent and limited typing, use Onscreen Keyboard

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10762/...

    1. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

Type Troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down and click Keyboard > Run the troubleshooter > Follow onscreen directions

    1. Update Keyboard Driver

Windows Key+X (Or right click on Start) > Click Device Manager > Expand Keyboards > Right click on Standard PS/2 Keyboard > Click Update Driver Software > Click Browse my computer for driver software > Click Let my pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Choose Standard PS/2 Keyboard > Click Next to update

If this does not work, select Search automatically for the updated driver in place of Browse my computer for driver software

4: Turn off filter keys in Ease of Access

Type ease in Windows Start Search box > Click Ease of Access > Click Make the Keyboard easier to use > Ensure Turn on filter Keys is not checked

    1. Press Windows Key + Space Bar once
    2. Terminate Cortana

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to invoke Task Manager > Go to Process tab > Locate Cortana >

Right Click on it and End Task

    1. Reset your BIOS defaults.
