    Hi Ole,

    In General Rundll should not be running on your system in the normal course of events

    You need to find what startup process is using rundll32.exe

    Click the link below to download a small free utility that does not need installing called Autoruns.

    Once downloaded, run either Autoruns.exe or Autoruns64.exe, depending on your System

    Look down the long list of startup processes to find entries with Rundll32.exe mentioned, disable any you find . . .

    I have killed some processes and now run dll memory use only 3MB.

    How can I keep the setting?

    Hi Ole,

    Rundll is just a host task for other processes to run on in Windows, a lot of malware uses Rundll to run without being seen . . .

    You need to work out what process (exe, dll . . .etc.) is actuallyrunning on RunDll

    Download the free utility - Process Explorer from the link below, using that you will be able to see the location of the actual file running on Rundll32.exe

    Which version and edition Windows did you originally upgrade from or was installed prior to your current version:

    Windows 10 - 1703, 1607, 1511, 1507 (build 10240)

    Open Start > Settings > Privacy > Background apps

    Disable all Background apps.

    Also, check whats starting up with Windows.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Task Manager

    Click Startup tab

    Disable all except Windows Defender.


    Press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Go to the services tab

    Check the box,

    hide all Microsoft services

    Disable the remaining services

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart if prompted


    Open Start, type: problem reports

    Hit Enter

    Delete any failed or pending reports.

    Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications and actions > Turn off "Show me tips about Windows."

    If you have Chrome installed, uninstall then reinstall it.

    Open Start, type: CMD

    Right click CMD

    Click Run as administrator

    Type: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

    Hit Enter

    Exit

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Power Options

    Click Additional power settings

    Click Change plan settings -> change advanced power settings > processor power management -> processor idle disable -> Enable idle.
