Command in command prompt not working

Question

I am trying to boot my computer but ehen i pit the command bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal, it does not work. Please someone help. P.S i am using his link https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10

Hi Ben. I am not sure why I was no longer subscribed to your thread which I just had to go and do myself.

As to your inquiry in this thread about Safe Mode, what I see in the command syntax you typed out above is that some space are missing. Each word has a space in between: bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal

In your other thread you were asking about booting the flash stick. Follow the steps I gave there to restart and PC and then immediately press the BIOS Boot menu key until it brings up the menu: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutor...

OK, Ben. Sorry I read that wrong, then.

Can you use one of the other methods to get into Safe Mode? Have you also tried the other steps I gave in your other thread which are excerpted from this most thorough guide for everything that can be done to start Windows when it won't start: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Since this has dragged on now for several days, would you want to try the Reset from the bootable media, accessing Repair Your Computer on second screen, then Troubleshooting Options. This is an automated reinstall which will save your files.

If that doesn't work or you want an even better install with the chance to wipe the hard drive first to get it cleanest, you can do the Clean Install which should get you past all difficulties as it has hundreds of thousands of others who have followed the steps in this link and never come back to report another problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Hi Greg,

Ive tried the first method you suggested in yiur most recent reply but when I try to rebuild the BCD an it stops me on one of my commands. Should i try to fix this or move on to the Clean Install?

Hi again Ben. That's not the first thing in the tutorial to get Windows 10 started, but it is a powerful repair if it will run. You seem to have a space after C: that shouldn't be there.

I think since you're not having luck with running commands that unless you want to try the others steps, you might actually save time by doing the Clean Install. But be sure to follow these illustrated steps in the link which compile the best possible Clean Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

You can rescue your files first if needed using the same booted media: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Make sure during the booted install to follow the illustrated steps to delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, then click Next to let it auto-create the needed partitions, format them and begin install - this makes it foolproof.

You will get and keep the best possible install to the exact extent you stick with the steps, tools and methods in the linked tutorial. It's a better install than any amount of money could buy.
