The reply from Paul Sey in another thread helped 83 people, including me. It might help you. It is relatively easy to do.

There are other troubleshooting steps listed in this guide: Fix Windows Update Errors

Try each in turn, run update again, and if not successful, move to next step.

    Hope this helps.

    Providing more info could help:

    1. What is the OS Build Number XXXXXX.XXX of your system? (get this with command winver)
    2. What is the name and KB number of the Windows Update you are having problems installing?

Often this is a non-Microsoft Anti-Virus program.  Some of which need uninstalled and a cleanup tool run that can be found at the support download webpages.

Can be other programs too.  Might try asking Cortana for the Compatibility Checker and running it - might give you a hint.

0xC1900208 – 0x4000C This could indicate that an incompatible app installed on your PC is blocking the upgrade process from completing. Check to make sure that any incompatible apps are uninstalled and then try upgrading again.
