As Notepad is built in Windows 10, you should have no problems opening the document.

However, if you are looking for a more better Software to customise your text, you can use Wordpad or Word Online( http://word.live.com)

Notepad is a text processing program which can save your file as .txt.

There is nothing like Windows 10 document.

A .txt file will open on all systems.

It seems you want to convert this into .docx / .doc file i.e. Word file.

In this case, you would need to open the .txt file in Wordpad (installed on all Windows 10) or Word (installed if license bought and installed) and here you can save as .doc or .docx.

In Wordpad, you should choose Office Open XML document while saving to save as .docx. (You can save as rtf)

If you want to open a Notepad text file in Word or WordPad, launch either Word or WordPad then open the text file, then save it as a Word document or RTF file.
