    1.  Click Start, type Programs and Features in the Search box, and press Enter.  Scroll down the list.  Is there an entry for Java?  Which version and update?

    2.  Assuming that Java is installed as confirmed in Step 1, click Start and type Java in the Search box.  You should see something similar to the following.  Either of the two entries marked with an arrow below will open the Java Control Panel.
