Hi,

On Win 10, in the file and printer sharing tab on private network, when switched on and saved, it keeps going off. I read and tried most of methods and recommended actions but nothing works for me. It's frustrating. i tried https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-networking-winpc/windows-10-keeps-turning-off-file-sharing/9dc877e4-ff38-4d1f-8bf2-8af9d6516c55 I'd appreciate some help.

Thanks.

    Another thing you can try...

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: appwiz.cpl

    Hit Enter

    Click View installed updates

If the following KBs are are installed, right click each then click uninstall

    • KB4088776
    • KB4089848

Restart, then try the sharing steps again.

    Hi Martin,

I’m sorry it keeps turning itself off. I’d love to troubleshoot and try to see if we can get it resolved however.

    Couple of questions,

    1. Latest version of Windows installed (1709)? All patches applied?
    2. I know you stated you tried many methods, did one of those include enabling it via group policy?

Let me know and we can move forward!
