Error 0x80070522

I am running a Windows 10 Home laptop that is not part of a domain. It has only account on it, mine, and it is the administrator. Prior to today, I was able to make changes to the C drive as I saw fit. Today, I am presented with error 0x80070522 saying that a user does not have the necessary privileges to make changes to the drive. I thought this might be a permissions issue, so I updated the security property for the drive to include the "everyone" group. This also did not work. Then I thought that my user profile may be corrupted, so I created another admin account to see if I could make changes to the C drive that way. I could not. I have searched a lot of sites online, and I haven't come across a solution yet that doesn't include updating the permissions. This has already been checked a thousand times, and I can rule it out as a problem.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

DW

    Hi,

You will get the error code 0x80070522 if you are performing some activities such as copying, pasting, or deleting a file in a particular folder on your Windows system that belongs to the operating system. Always make sure that you are running the program as an administrator to prevent this issue. To isolate this, we would like to know if there were any changes made on your laptop prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation).

We look forward to your response.
