Nvidea display adapter code 12

After update to Windows 10 1709 the NVS 3100M display adapter in my Dell E6410 won't work--the system reverted to the microsoft display which is very poor.  The warning in device manager gives code 12--lack of free resources (code 12).  While it suggests removing some other device, how can I find the other devices using conflicting resources?

So I just bought a PNY geforce gtx 1050 for my gaming laptop, a ASUS g75 with windows 10 64bit (sorry im not very sure if that will help). Previous to that

I had a gtx 760 and setting that up was a nightmare and succeded in setting that up, and since I upgraded, I have expeirenced difficulties. Fortunately it does detect it so that is not an issue, but the problem is that error code 12. I looked it up, found people with the same problem, but the answers they get just does not benefit me in any way. For example, when it is suggested to run a trouble shoot, I do so only for it to say it has been fixed and to restart it and upon doing so it still says the code 12. Side note, whenever BIOS is involved to solve it, i can not utilize that due to the fact that the setting that needs to be changed or whatever is none existent. Found that others have expeirenced this as well, I again apologize for not giving specifics on what that setting in the BIOS is because I forgot and even if i remeber what it is, its not there. Thank you for any and all help.

    Hi Gerry,

The Code 12 error can occur if two devices that are installed on your computer have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or both). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device.

We suggest that you use the Device Manager to help you determine the source of and resolve the conflict. Please click on this link for more details.
