I’m having trouble with the Hover function in Microsoft Windows 10 in that it’s not working – I’ll hover my mouse over the icon of a program that is open but not to the front of my screen and while the thumbnail will pop-up, the program won’t pop up.

This has been happening since before the latest big update for windows was installed and started around 10/13/17

Computer:  Lenovo Ideabook U430 touch 20270

System: Windows 10

Last update:  10/19/17(The Large Fall Update)

    Hi Gwendolyn,

The option to activate a window by hovering it with the mouse may not be enabled, and this could be a possible cause why you are experiencing an issue with using the hover function of your mouse.

Follow these steps to enable the Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse option:

    1. Using Cortana, type ease of access.
    2. On the search results, click on Ease of Access Center.
    3. Choose Make the mouse easier to use.
    4. Under Make it easier to manage windows, tick on the checkbox beside Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse.
    5. Click Apply and then click OK.
    6. Restart your computer.

Let us know if further assistance is needed.
