Hello,

Please try these steps:

1. Press Windows + R keys, type shell:startup and click OK or press Enter key.

2. In the Startup folder open next, delete the PowerPoint shortcut. Or if there is any PowerPoint file shortcut present there, delete it as well.

If you don't wish to delete these shortcuts, just move them from Startup folder to any other folder.

Hope this helps!

    Hi Izzy,

Office files may tend to open automatically if it the PowerPoint app is included on the Startup programs. To remove it from Startup, follow the steps below:

    1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open Task Manager or you can type it directly on the search bar.
    2. Once Task Manager window is open, select Startup tab.
    3. Under Startup tab, check if PowerPoint is listed on the programs. If yes, click on it then click the Disable button on the right-corner of the window.
    4. Once done, restart your PC and see if it will open automatically again.

You can also run Office repair app if the issue persists.
