Server 2008 SP2 will not boot

is there a way to extract the file from the server 2008 disk and replace the missing or corrupt file

error : 0xc0000225

\windows\system32\drivers\WRKRN.SYS

 Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

i would use the install media first and try 

checkdisk

boot in safe mode, remove this webroot software/device driver

last resort, plug the hard drive into another machine and restore the file manually (assuming there are no raid complications)

    thanks so much for your response!! , I was able to delete the offending driver from safe mode command prompt the issue is resolved
