how do I get rid of it, I can't seem to get it off my desktop?

    Hi Marilyn,

    The pop-up window when switching between apps is an interface designed for touchscreen devices running on Windows 8.1 and this will still appear even if you’re using a desktop. If you prefer to have this option to be disabled, here are the steps:

    1. From Search option, go to PC settings.
    2. Click on PC and devices.
    3. Go and click on Corners & Edges.
    4. Under the App switching option, switch to Off all the buttons., then check the result after.
