Teams Public Preview: Contact search not working

Hi,
I would like to report an issue in the Teams Public Preview:

We noticed that the contact search in the Teams Public Preview (v1.4.00.3484; updated on 08.02.2021) is not working.
In detail: If you are searching for a contact, which is not part of your recent chats yet, in Teams client the search stays empty without any search results.
After switching back to "regular" Teams version (v1.4.00.2879; updated on 10.02.2021) the search is working again.

Is this issue already known?

Do you mean the regular Teams version is unchecking Public Preview in the following image?

I tested in my lab. Whether I am in public preview or in regular, the Teams client is the same version 1.4.00.3484 (64 bit). Meanwhile, contact searching is working properly.

Dear @Sharon Zhao-MSFT ,

sorry for not coming back earlier.

I checked again on my end, and contact search is still not working properly on public preview.
"Unknown" people (no chats/calls before) are not found at all in the contact search.

As you described: Yes the Teams Versions are now the same on regular channel and on public preview: v1.4.00.4167.

Do you try to enter the whole username in public preview?

I found the same situation in Teams for Linux (Ubuntu 20.04). The workaround is to enter the whole username. You could try it.

unfortunately, the workaround is not working on my side.
Both options (entering full Name & entering full userid) is leading to no search results for new contacts.
