Install .Net Framework 4.0 for Win10

Recently I have to install matlab coder 2015 which needs .Net Framework 4.0 for graduation project. I downloaded the installer for .net 4.0, but the installer keeps telling me that .Net Framework 4.0 is already a part of my system. The most interesting thing is that the installer of matlab coder tells me it cant install the C++ compiler which is exactly I NEED on my computer, given that I didn't get a .Net Framework 4.0 in my system!!! Some told me that .Net Framework 4.6 is COMPATIBLE with .Net Framework 4.0, however it seems the truth tells NO.

PS: I've tried to disable .Net Framework 4.6 before installing .Net Framework 4.0, change the value of the version of the .Net Framework in the register, and both didn't work. The installer still says .Net Framework 4.0 is already a part of my system.

PSS: I come from China, so if you are a Chinese and happen to know how to fix it, do reply me! The reason that I quiz in English is hoping there gonna be more people coming to help me out. :)

    Hello Yang,

We would like to know the configuration of your Windows 10 PC prior to the installation of .NET Framework 4. We need to check if .NET Framework is enabled on Windows Features.

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Type Windows Features.
    3. Select Turn Windows feature on or off.
    4. If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
    5. Confirm if the check box for .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services is selected.
    6. If its both items are enabled, clear the check box, and then click OK.
    7. Restart your PC.
    8. Download and reinstall .NET Framework 4.

You can get the installer for .NET Framework 4 below. You can choose between a web installer and a standalone installer.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

If you're unable to reinstall .NET Framework 4.0, we advise running the .NET Framework Repair Tool. The tool troubleshoots issues with .NET Framework installation. The repair tool supports .NET Framework 3.5 and later. You can access the repair tool on this link.

Please respond back with the results.

Thanks for your help, but the repair tool you gave can't  do anything, either. It repaired my windows installation service and some register staff, even repaired my .Net 4.5, however it still didn't work.

Thank you for getting back to us.

If the issue continues even after running the .NET Framework Repair Tool, we advise reinstalling the program you mentioned in your initial post. .NET Framework should already be packaged with the program if the repair tool is not detecting any issues with .NET Framework 4.0.

To make sure that the issue is not due to a corrupted user account, we advise reinstalling the program on a newly created user account. This procedure is just for isolation to find out if the issue is caused by a software conflict or a corrupted system file. Follow the steps outlined in this article on how to create a user profile in Windows 10. Name the new user account as "Test" for distinction, install the program, and then monitor if the same issue will occur.

We'll be waiting for your response.
