Recently, I have been experiencing some issues with high disk usage. I opened device manager to check if any drivers were outdated. To my surprise, there was a bang next to system firmware 1.0.8. When I told windows to update the driver, it told me that the best drivers for my device are already installed.

I assume you mean there is a yellow exclamation next to the device. The instructions to retrieve the hardware ID string will help me to find the driver for you.
The instructions show you how to do that.
