    A. Refer to below link which has 7 different solutions for this problem.

    1: Disable Windows Search

    2: Disable SuperFetch Service

    3: Perform a diskcheck

    4: Reset Virtual Memory

    5: Disable Antivirus Software temporarily

6: Change the settings in Google & Skype

    7: Fix your StorAHCI.sys driver

    B. Also look into this, a special case - Task Manager might show 100% disk utilization on Windows 10 devices with Message Signaled Interrupt (MSI) mode enabled

    Disable all except Windows Defender.

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Check the box,

    hide all Microsoft services

    Disable the remaining services

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart if prompted

    Open Start, type: problem reports

    Hit Enter

Delete any failed or pending reports.

Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications and actions > Turn off "Show me tips about Windows."

    Do you have MalwareBytes installed?

This has been known to cause 100% disk usage & MBAM have released an update to rectify this: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3

Also the Spectre & Meltdown updates have slowed down computers with Intel & they are advising not to download the update, if you have then there’s a workaround to disable the update (for intel processors only):

If neither of these answer your question please post back.
