100% disk usage

Whenever I plug in the charger, the disk shows 100% usage without any applications running  on the background. It happens every time I plug the charger, but it doesn't happen when the laptop is running on battery.

Help me solve this issue.

I would like to know the current status of the issue. Are you still experiencing the same issue after disabling the Superfetch service?

Please update us on the current situation of the issue.

    Dell Inspiron 3542

    Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-4210U CPU@1.70 GHz

    Ram: 8 GB

    64 bit operating system

    Windows 10 Home

    Version: 1709

    OS Build: 16299.309

This has been there for the past three months. Also there is no error message whenever it happens.

Did the above mentioned trouble shooting, but still the problem exists.

    Hi Gowtham,

A misconfiguration with your power plan might be the cause of the high CPU usage whenever you charge your laptop. It would be great if you can provide more details about your concern. Please answer the following questions:

    • What is the make and model of your Windows 10 laptop?
    • When did the issue start?
    • Did you notice any system setting changes prior to the issue?
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you installed the latest updates for Windows 10?
    • What is the OS Build of your Windows 10 laptop? Click the Start button, type About your PC, press Enter, and then scroll down to Windows specifications to find this information.

As initial troubleshooting, we recommend running the Power troubleshooter. This tool will scan and fix your laptop for any issues found with your power configurations. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Select Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    4. Under Find and fix other problems, select Power.
    5. Click Run the troubleshooter.
    6. If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
    7. Follow the on-screen instruction.

You can also download the tool online from this **link**.

We're looking forward to your response.
