I want to add a custom sound notification for OUTLOOK APP when it receives an email.   within the app, I see a number of stock default notification sounds.  these must be stored on the android phone in some folder.  Where is this folder????  thanks!!

Hello Scott,

You can choose the ringtone that you want by giving the Outlook app permission to see the files on your notifications folder. To customize the notification sound, copy the sound file to the Notification folder on your file navigator. After that, give permission to the Outlook app to read from the storage by checking your Settings > Apps > Outlook > App permissions/Permission > Storage > Enable. You should be able to choose the sound file as your notification sound on the Outlook app.

This should work for custom sounds. My default sounds stopped (assuming from a Google Play Store update for Outlook as this happened before) and I didn't feel like uninstalling Outlook and reinstalling to get the sounds back. Here's the process I took to get sounds back, but is also working for more custom sounds:

    1. I went to Internal Storage > Android > media
    2. Then I created a folder called com.Outlook
    3. Then in the com.Outlook folder, I created another folder called Notifications
    4. I copied the sound files into this folder**
    5. Closed and Reopened Outlook and now I can browse my Sounds

**If you are looking for the Windows Default Sounds, browse to C:\Windows\media. By the way, the Windows Hardware Failure and Ring 05 make some cool text \ ring sounds.

Hi Michael, this tip worked great on my galaxy S7 but I have just bought a new Huawei Pro P20 and when I click on new email sound,I am taken to Notification management, but no where does a list of Sound notifications appear . With the sent email sound, I do get an option of notification sounds ? Any ideas on why this would happen.... 😔
