Ongoing windows update errors with 8.1 - 800f0900

I've been getting this error for about a month now, on updates KB4056859 (Dec. 17) and more recently KB4054519 (Jan. 18). I reset the trouble shooter, run 8.1 in clean boot mode repeatedly, all to no avail. I run virus checking 24/7 (F-Secure) and am careful about what I install. But no luck.

Thank you, Bill -  step 6, the 'fix windows file corruption' step, seemed to fix the problem.

I was able to install update KB4056859 after that.

    Thanks again,

    Max
