My touchpad cannot move the pointer after a few seconds of inactivity. The pointer seems to become "asleep" and can only be moved again when I click on the touchpad or do a right click. I find it annoying to always click before I can move the pointer, what can I do about this?

Hello,

One of the reasons why your laptop's touchpad is not working right away after being inactive for a while can be due to outdated touchpad driver. For us to resolve the issue, we suggest that you check for the latest driver updates as it will ensure that you have the latest security updates and fixes. Here's how:

  1. Click the Start button, type "device manager" in the search box, and then select Device Manager.
  2. In the list of hardware categories, find the device that you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
  3. Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.

Let us know how it goes. We'll be glad to assist you further.
