Windows Server 2016 upgrade Error

Hi

 i want to upgrade windows server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2016 both are standard editions, iget the following error:

"setup couldn't start properly. please reboot your pc and try running windows 10 setup again"

noting that the C Partition doe not have these folders:

Windows.~BT

Windows.~WS

Windows.old

any one with real solution please.

    but the error is GUI, and the message states widows 10 >>>>>.

    i have already mentioned that, viewed the hidden and OS protected files.

    theses folders do not exist.

    this traditional answer, i have seen it many times, any ideas.?

    Go to windows (C) drive and you will see one or two folders i.e ( $windows or windows$). you may have to change the folder view to view hidden folders.

    Hope this will resolve the issue.
